Coworking is the place to be: Part 1 of 2

Recruiting and Corporation Benefits from CoWorking During a Pandemic.

“With so much drama in the LBC, The best way to get work done is Coworking”…or whatever Snoop Dogg said. He’s right! Being productive during a pandemic sucks. It’s like, not rad. However despite what one may think, Co-working is ideal for maneuvering and thriving in this gross social climate. There’s a lot to cover under the Coworking umbrella, which is why this is in 3 parts.

The days of traditional work, have taken a huge hit this year. It would be a detriment to progress to steer back toward the traditional 9-5 framework. Especially when Coworking is not only an option, but based on studies, is the best. It would be quite silly to not address the pandemic sized elephant in the room. “Wouldn’t community work spaces be less than ideal during this climate?” Well, until we can all get rent forgiveness, and student loan forgiveness, and ___(insert anything you’d like)_____ forgiveness. We all gotta work, and remote working creates so many benefits to guarantee safety and productivity!

SAFETY

CoWorking places have adapted to the pandemic extremely well. When you come in a temperature check is done for everyone. Deep cleans happen at least once a day with active zone cleaning every two hours, setting the mind at ease. However, sometimes you want to guarantee that cleanliness yourself. Which is encouraged with cleaning wipes placed throughout the space. Initial floorpans have been shifted to maintain 6ft distancing, all while requiring masks and installing hand sanitizing stations.

In addition to the physical clean, most Coworking places are open 24hrs. Which gives people a better work/life balance, while being able to go to ‘work’ during non-traditional/busier hours. Allowing their members to navigate their exposure to others, themselves. All of these elements combined, place ease or control of environment into the hands of an employee. Which is crucial in 2020, the year of “Yikes”.

PRODUCTIVITY

Remote working has been studied thoroughly, because corporations are still “somehow” shocked by how much of a positive effect it has on productivity and the work community. So let’s look at the facts.

Statistics from 2017-2018 show that 84% of people using coworking spaces are more engaged and motivated, 89% of coworkers report being happier, and 76% of people who cowork plan on coworking long term. Math and Science have come together, yet again, to show us that CoWorkers are happier…Who doesn’t want to be happy? Other than maybe, Skeletor.

Now that they’re happy, are they doing better work? OF COURSE THE ARE! The Global Coworking Survey by Deskmag, basically shows these happy folks are going OFF in the productivity department. 64% said they can better complete tasks on time. 68% said their focus is better in a coworking space. 62% said their standard of work improved. Plus, 71% said since joining a coworking space, their creativity increased!

This isn’t even mentioning the diverse community that coworking places cultivate. These spaces are full of startups, experienced professionals, freelancers, all looking to connect and widen their network and business approach through new experiences and perspectives. Whether you are looking for creative and innovative employees or want to get the best out of the employees you have, Coworking places are creating environments where people can get the best out of themselves, while doing their best work.
